Personality
Ginny is a forceful, independant girl who knows her own mind. She has a very energetic and lively personality, except for the first few years of her friendship with Harry because of her huge crush on him. Ginny used to be shy around Harry, had sometimes even run from a room if she saw him in it. Yes, she still has a huge crush on Harry, but thanks to advice from Hermione, Ginny has toned it down a lot and has been seeing other boys while still holding out hope that Harry would one day love her. Having overcome her shyness when she was around Harry, Ginny has reasserted herself and become more openly talkative. Ginny loves Quidditch and was on the team last year, and hopes to be again this year. One of the odd things about Ginny is that she very rarely cries, and when she usually cries, it's when she's alone and in silence, so nobody will think she's weak or vulnerable. Growing up with all those older brothers has taught her to be strong, so she can take a lot of the rough and tumble many other girls can't.
Ginny isn't afraid to stand up to anyone, friend or enemy. At one point Ginny had stood up to Draco Malfoy during a visit to Flourish and Blotts in which she'd heard Draco insulting Harry. Even known to stand up to Hermione, her best friend, Ginny is sometimes described as being vivacious or stubborn. Nobody can really tell. Yes, Ginny is passionate about Quidditch and will protect those she loves both verbally and physically. Ginny's fierce temper, however, does have a tendancy to make her sound unkind or even heartless. Ginny is able to keep secrets, and has for a long time. None of her brothers had ever known that she was sneaking their broomsticks out of the broomshed as a child to practice her flying. But by doing so she became a very accomplished flier.
Being a popular girl at Hogwarts, Ginny is liked by many boys and her brothers often tell her that she's too popular for her own good. She is also known to be quick-witted and funny, often making people laugh even though they feel upset. Somewhat of an accomplished actress, and able to lie effectively, Ginny can get away with things even if she's caught red handed. Ginny is an animal lover who is very fond of cats.

Roleplaying Example
Ginny had known someone else was coming into the room from the very moment the sound of the portrait of the silver bowl of fruit started to creak open. Of course, this didn't even matter to her with how she was devouring one cookie after another, trying to eat away her anger and emotional insecurities in private instead of revealing them all to the public and anyone who might've looked her way. With a cookie dangling from her mouth, Ginny kept her eye on the door. And wouldn't you know it, the very person she was upset with and angry at would come sauntering through the door and into the kitchen like some hero who'd just come home from battle and was expecting his supper to be ready and waiting. Sighing inwardly, Ginny did her best not to glare at Harry. Instead, she went back to chewing the cookie which she immediately swallowed when Harry began speaking to her. She didn't know why Harry was asking her if she was okay. In her opinion it should've been obvious to him because it was his fault she was upset and angry in the first place. Not usually one to rant and rail unless she was doing so in protest of something or because she was seriously angry, Ginny did her best not to glare so much at Harry, even though she could feel her anger bubbling inside her, like an overheated cauldron about to boil over.
"Kind of upset?" Ginny asked, standing up and turning to face Harry properly across the room, folding her arms over her chest. "Kind of upset?!" Okay, so Ginny's voice was starting to slightly rise in pitch as her passionate nature took over. "You tell me you're not ready for any relationship and then I see you all over the castle chatting up girls like Astoria Greengrass and you expect me not to be upset?!" Ginny said, keeping her arms crossed over her chest and refusing her fingers their itching desire of grabbing her wand to curse Harry with her speciality, the Bat Boogey Hex. "You told me I was first on your list of people, Harry. But clearly I was once again the fool..." Huffing, Ginny began to pace the length of the room, trying to control her temper. Where Ginny's brothers normally would've leapt in and began a physical fight, Ginny tried to control her temper, or at least, keep the fight as non physical and non violent as possible.
"I am tired of crying over you.." Ginny snapped, still trying to control the emotions coursing through her. "...I am tired of wanting you and yet seeing you hitting on girls like Astoria Greengrass merely because they think you're the Chosen One. The only reason they even like you right now is because you're in the papers and everyone is talking about how you were at the Ministry last year and in some fight with Voldemort. They all have had to admit they were wrong and everything when they've done nothing but mock you and call you a liar. I, on the other hand, have stood by you one hundred percent and have even told people to shut their trap because you weren't lying! Yes, I was there at the Ministry, fighting right beside you and supporting you every step of the way. So were Ron, Hermione, Neville, and Luna. But do you see us parading about getting stared and gawked at like we're some celebrity side show?"
At the point, Ginny turned her head to look at Harry. "No, you don't. And we wouldn't want to be, either. All this Chosen One nonsense has everyone fawning over you. Batting their eyelashes and puckering their lips for kisses or even a few minutes of your time. But there are those of us... There are those of us who love you for who you are and not for your fame, popularity, or financial wealth. There are some of us who don't give a damn what the Prophet says because we'd rather listen to the one we trust and love. But no, it all seems to be going to your head, Mr. Chosen One.." Ginny said, her voice somewhat scathing, though calm.
"So, you want to know if I'm alright? The answer is no. No, I am not alright. Once again I am left in the shadows while you go gallovanting off to flirt with people like the Greengrass sisters from Slytherin. Slytherin, Harry, Slytherin!" Ginny said, pointing out the obvious. "The very same house that Voldemort himself was in!" Yes, Ginny had just said Voldemort's name. Usually Ginny, just like her family and her parents, would say He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. It was only the seriousness of the situation and her wanting to prove how serious she was that she had said Voldemort's name. Tears flowing down Ginny's cheeks, she continued to stare into Harry's eyes.
"I'm sorry Sirius died, okay?" Ginny said, keeping her sobs inside. She didn't want to look vulnerable right now, though she really was very much so. "I'm sorry he died, but you can't keep blaming yourself for his death. And you can't keep blaming me for it. I tried, Harry. I tried! I did my best and used everything you taught me during the DA meetings last year, and I just couldn't help him..." At this point, Ginny sank to her knees and began to sob uncontrollably. "I just couldn't help..."
